Amalur Bamboo Painting Speakers
Decorative pointillism on the Amalur speaker
The bamboo paintings are beautiful and colorful decorative pointillism applied in an unusual way on the Amalur Bamboo Speaker.
They were not done by paint brush, spray paint, or other common painting techniques, they are water-based paint applied with the use of medical injectors.
Although it may resembles the decorative paintings of the Aborigines in Australia, they were actually done by our craftsmen in Kasongan Village near to our workshop; the YPCM Foundation.
This village is located in Bantul District in Yogyakarta Special Province of Indonesia.
Bantul District is one of the central areas of handicrafts in Yogyakarta. There are many handicrafts village in Bantul; such as Manding Village which is the central of leather handicrafts, Kota Gede Village which is the central of silver handicrafts, and Kasongan Village which is the central of pottery and ceramics handicrafts.
Although our bamboo paintings craftsmen came from the Kasongan Village, they also have the ability to apply their painting technique on our bamboos.
